Iowa Unity Coalition Endorses Larry McBurney for Urbandale City Council

For Immediate Release: July 8, 2021

The Iowa Unity Coalition is proud to announce the endorsement of Larry McBurney for Urbandale City Council in the upcoming election to be held on November 2, 2021. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and underrepresented communities at every level of government.

Mr. McBurney is a veteran who completed three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan and is a community leader. He currently serves on the Urbandale Civil Rights Commission and is Vice President of the Urbandale 4th of July Committee. He is a member of the Iowa Workforce Development Board and executive co-chair of the Filipino American Society. We believe Mr. McBurney is the best candidate to build community relationships and he will work to include the needs and voices of marginalized groups. He understands the challenges Urbandale residents face, particularly in the area of affordable housing, and will work to increase availability. Additionally, he will work to provide equal access to government for all residents.
