The Iowa Unity Coalition is pleased to announce the endorsement of John Chiles for re-election to the Waterloo City Council Ward 1 in the upcoming municipal election to be held on November 4, 2025. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and underrepresented communities at every level of government.

John Chiles is the Suzuki Department Chair of Orchestral Studies and Chamber Music at the UNI Suzuki School. He also serves as liaison to Experience Waterloo. John believes in the power of neighborhood associations and has worked to build strong connections between all neighborhoods and the city. He has authored several ordinances that have been of great benefit for all the citizens of Waterloo.

The Coalition believes his vision for a united city is one that benefits all people. He will continue to move the city forward in a way that provides more opportunities for the residents of Waterloo.
