Iowa Unity Coalition Endorses Quentin Hart for Waterloo Mayor

For Immediate Release: August 5, 2021

The Iowa Unity Coalition is pleased to announce our endorsement of Quentin Hart for re-election as Waterloo Mayor in the upcoming election to be held on November 2, 2021. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and underrepresented communities at every level of government.

Mr. Hart has served as Waterloo mayor since 2016 and is seeking his 4th term. He previously served on the Waterloo City Council for 8 years and is the former Director of Multicultural Affairs at Hawkeye Community College. Mr. Hart is only African-American to be elected as mayor in Waterloo. We believe he has shown a strong commitment to eliminating inequities for the diverse communities in Waterloo. Additionally, we feel he has extensive experience in the areas of social justice and systems interactions.
