For immediate release: October 11, 2021

The Iowa Unity Coalition is pleased to announce the endorsement of Alan Steckman for re-election to the Mason City School Board At-Large in the upcoming election to be held on November 2, 2021. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and underrepresented communities at every level of government.

Alan Steckman is a retired postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service, a former adjunct professor at Waldorf College and substitute teaches in the Mason City Schools. As a school board member, he has been an outspoken advocate for all students, particularly those from diverse backgrounds. His connections to the schools in the district give him a unique opportunity to see how board policies directly impact students. Alan has been able to use his experiences to inform his decisions on the board. The Coalition believes Alan Steckman will continue to be a board member who advocates for all children.
