The Iowa Unity Coalition is pleased to announce the endorsement of Shaimaa Aly for Broadlawns Board of Trustees in the upcoming general election to be held on November 8, 2022. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and underrepresented communities at every level of government. 

Shaimaa Aly immigrated to the United States in early 2000, earning her BA in economics and statistics from Cairo University in Egypt. Later, she earned her MBA from Drake University. Shaimaa works for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage as Senior Business Execution Manager. 

She is a graduate of the Community Leadership Program (CLP) class of 2020. In keeping racial equity front and center of her work in the community, Shaimaa serves on the West Des Moines Human Rights Commission, DSM USA 4 Equity Collective and as Chair of the Capital Crossroads Social Capital.
