Iowa Unity Coalition Endorses Aime Wichtendahl for Re-Election to the Hiawatha City Council

The Iowa Unity Coalition is pleased to announce the endorsement of Aime Wichtendahl for re-election to the Hiawatha City Council in the upcoming election to be held on November 7, 2023. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and underrepresented communities at every level of government. 

Aime Wichtendahl is currently serving her second term on the Hiawatha City Council. She is the first transgender woman elected to public office in Iowa. Aime has a B.A. in journalism and political science from Mount Mercy College.

Ms. Wichtendahl has supported small business growth, expanding transportation infrastructure, and expanding recreational opportunities. She is an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, especially those of transgender youth.
